It would seem the poor and elderly, the disabled in particular, get cut from first before the healthy. Maybe that's because they lack strength, and so can't fight to save themselves.

it's true! I've been disabled and on medicare since i was 42. I've seen it go from ok to very bad. in fact..in the county i am in i only have 1 choice of an insurance company if i want to have a PPO plan. when i started i had a choice of at least 10!not happy with the insurance co,but i HATE HMO's..would rather see a veterinarian for my care!!!
