December 31......

is a day my parents and I,and my twin, always celebrated!! Not because it was New Years Eve. A day more important than my birthday or any other holiday. This is known as Adoption Day..the day my parents got us..we became the twin daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph L. Redmond!! Annette Allen became Sherrie Ann Redmond!!! We were 6 mos. old . This was the day that changed my life forever. this was the day the God gave me the most precious gift  of all..the most wonderful parents in the world!! These 2 people moved heaven and earth to provide ,for my sister and I, everything that life had to offer. My sister and I had everything we could have wanted. My parents always made us feel special and encouraged us to reach for the sky and follow our dreams.
My father got the phone call from Childrens Home Society Los Angeles..and they both loved telling the story.....
CHS.."Mr. Redmond,we have a little girl for you"
Daddy "we'll take her"
CHS " Ther's just 1 thing.."
Daddy.."we'll take her"
CHS.."Mr. Redmond,she has a twin"
Daddy  "we'll take them"
CHS  "don't you want to discuss this with your wife?"
Daddy " No, we'll take them"
CHS  "do you want to see them before you decide"
Daddy.."NO, WE'LL TAKE THEM"
And so the journey began!!! And what a marvelous one it was! There was not one day,in their entire lives that I knew, without a shadow of a doubt, that I(and my sister) came first..in every way.
Thank you Mom and Daddy..I still celebrate..and I can feel you here with me.
To my birth mother..where ever you are..Thank You! And, I love you too..only a mother who loves her children could make that sacrifice..one I know only too well!
MY PATERNAL GRANDMA,MY MOM AND "FINNY",THE SOCIAL WORKER (SHE CAME TO MY WEDDING!)

WITHIN A FEW MONTHS OF ADOPTING US!! SO CHUNKY WE WERE!

lOOK AT THAT SMILE!!!   YOU'D THINK SHE'D BE EXHAUSTED!!
HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL!!! MAY 2012 BRING YOU LOVE,JOY, HAPPINESS AND HEALTH!!!!

Wow, that is so much bigger than New Years. Your story is touching not just because of your parents ready acceptance of two girls unrelated to them, but also because of your acceptance and gratitude toward them. It's so heartwarming and a great inspiration for the start of a new year. I wish you and your family a very happy and prosperous 2012.
