did you see the movie CHINATOWN with Jack Nicholson ...Los Angeles DWP just smells of this movie!!! Had to deal with them until I moved out of LA County to Ventura County. their rates were UNBELEIVABLE,and that was over 20 years ago. I almost had a heart attack everytime I had to pay it for my Dad when I stayed with him while he was dying.

I realize cultures are different........but,I did not know,these bulls run to the bullring where the are part of the afternoon bullfight!!! I have to say,this is one custom ,bullfighting,of this culture, that I just don't understand . It seems just too cruel and unjustified in this day and age.Let them run..but for goodness sakes..bullfighting!!! A beautiful country,with a very ugly "sport"!

from Maria Carr at dreamywhites blog !!!! these beautiful french enamelware pitchers!!! filled with lavender!! Also,the darling lavendar fabric packet shown with the blue pitcher. they are about 14 inches high,11 inches wide and gorgeous!!! I won her giveaway at the middle of June..a $250.00 gift card to her store Dreamy Whites.Yes,you read it right..$250.00!!!! they came so carefully wrapped,each pitcher wrapped in paper,tied a sprig of lavender tucked in the bow!! They came with large bunches of dried lavender,as you can see..oh,they smell so good!!! Thank you Maria!!

4th of July at the Smithsonian's National Zoo

Happy 4th of July..

hope you all are having a great weekend..hope your 4th is full of fun!
Our city's fireworks show starts at 9:20 tomorrow evening..the fireworks are set off in the park DIRECTLY ACROSS THE STREET FROM MY HOUSE!!! Imagine that!!! I don't have to pack up stuff,trudge around with a cooler and chairs. Nope...just walk out my back door and take a nice comfy seat!!! If i run out of wine or whatever...less than 10 steps!! Then,when it's over..as everyone else fights the traffic..I just step inside and shut the slider!! The only drawback..our 3 dogs are scared to death of the noise...the BOOMS will shake the ground and are very loud!!! The cats hide under the furniture!!!  My poor babies..!!! The price they pay for mommy's great seat at the yearly fireworks show!! We usually enjoy the fireworks with my friend across the stret,my kids,her kids and their spouses!! It's such fun!!! My husband isn't big on fireworks,so he stays inside with the animals....and he'll watch my littlest grandson,who was scared of them last year, and my granddaughter if she gets scared.(she was last year!)......however you spend the day..have a  marvelous time!!!      HUGS!!                                                                                                            .
