"Outside of the Box"

I made this atc for a swap! Thanks to Valerie B. at The Sum of All Crafts for the body and wings...on her blog she did days of steampunk images as a lovely freebie!! All kinds of parts,heads..you name it!! Face from TumbleFishSudios.  It didn't scan as clear as I would have liked due to the metal embellishments..oh well!!! Used some distress stickles on the sides and distress inks,also watercolor pencils. Thanks for visiting!!

ok..I had to share this. a very wonderful and talented artist whose blog and web store I go to has received the most insulting email from another "artist".Please click on to the link to read this email on Becky's blog. Becky is the sweetest,most caring and honest person! I can't believe how mean and ugly the person was who wrote this slanderous and libelous email to her was! This pissed me off so much I had to write this post!! thanks for listening to my rant. I for one, will never make another purchase from the writer of this email to Becky until she apologizes to Becky and recants her statement. I will not purchase from any web store that carries this other "artisits" products until it is done! Becky..I want everyone who visits my blog to know you are an artists with talent and morals and the highest integrity!!!!! ann

So,how did you sleep.....

We had howling Santa Ana winds..as Raymond Chandler said "it's the kind of wind that would make a housewife take a butcher knife to her husbands throat"..needless to say,I slept poorly. Devil winds....I'd rather have snow!!!!
anyway...poor sleep puts me in a mood.....this ATC is the result!  Thanks for looking and visiting me!

There are times when I think....................I need more hours in the day!!!!!

jUST A bITCH...........

What is it with deadbeat Dads...no child support for the 6 years it's been ordered for(over $32,000.00 in arrears...guess who's been supporting them?!!)...supposed to have his kids this holiday weekend..says can't take them Fri.(called 2 hrs before he was to pick them up) because he's working on Sat...excuse me?..does "electrician "work under the table..who schedules an emergency the day before?(New Years Day at that)...was to pick them up Sat. at 2:30...never called or showed up!! My poor grandkids were devastated that he "forgot" them..deadbeat lives with his Mom and step-dad..she always says how much she loves them..wants them to stay longer than the weekend..yet,does she call..NO!!!!..  we spent this weekend trying to help them through it. I can't imagine how it feels to not have a parent care enough. The other "grandparents..."..the hell with them too!
OK..got it off my chest!!...it will probably come back later.....deadbeat dad is always doing something that's just totally wrong!!!...if it weren't against the law,I'd just shoot him ..I know I'd feel better !!

I was sitting around the other night,just thinking about my life and the "many hats" I wear...this is the result...an ATC about Me!! ...and the first time I've referred to myself as an artist!!! A BIG step for me!!thanks for looking. Happy New Year!!

December 31,1954.......

is a very special day! It is my 2nd,and most important birthday! As we all think of ways to celebrate the coming New Year, I celebrate the day my twin sister and I were adopted by our parents! We were 6 mo. old ..Annette Allen and Janette Allen became Sherrie Ann Redmond and Susan Jan Redmond!!!!! My parents shortened our birth names and called us Ann and Jan..a lovely tribute to the very special woman who gave birth to us and loved us enough to give us a better life . I thank you,Donna Jean Miller..wherever you are! Mom and Dad, I know you are with me every day,watching over me from heaven,Jan..I know you are there too and I feel all of you around me! Thank you Mom and Dad for loving us so much and for giving me a life full of love and support. You provided everything we needed and wanted and more! I can't think of one thing I ever asked for that you didn't do or give. I always knew,no matter what,that I was loved unconditionally ! I may not have been born from your bodies,but I know I was born from your heart..the most special place a child can be!!
Every year,we all celebrated this day..the day I became their daughter! When I began my career as an R.N..there were New Years Eve's that I had to work..but I made sure to see them,hug and kiss them and say thank you for being my parents!
I always felt special.I've never been an adoptee who felt incomplete or questioned who I was..I am the daughter of Ralph and Sybil Redmond..the lukiest daughter in the world!!!!
So, to all my friends I wish you a wonderful New Year..may it bring you all you hope for and more!!!Thank you all for taking the time to visit my blog ..it means more to me than I can express! I have received so much from all of you.

I just read this article..and it touched me so. In all the hustle and bustle of holiday shopping,trying to find the right gift,how many,outdoing ourselves.....do we find ourselves forgetting the true meaning of the Holidays? This man didn't..and he gave of himself to others to "just give" ! This year,I am going to remember this..I don't have a lot,I have much less than most, but more than many..I have a roof over my head,food to eat(not always what I'd like,but nothing I hate and my stomach is full)...I can't buy new craft supplies,but I have lots I have bought over the years that I can use, I am rich in the love of my family and friends...surely I can find a little extra to help someone less fortunate than me!!!...when I go to buy a toy for each of my grandchildren for Christmas..I will buy three for needy children..if I can do more I will !
